Lets say some ones declared mental, from there we are able to work out the level of abstraction this person is away from reality.

Another potential use.

Psych wards could be numbered by the level of Cuil and the patients treated accordingly.

Professions of the mind could benefit, "Patient X is X Cuils, treatment X has proven to have a X Cuil deduction."

Treatments could be categorized by the level of deduction for a certain level of Cuil.

Crude ideas, hopefully helpful.

A problem Im seeing is the linear nature of cuil theory and how it applies to what is potentially more complex. Some psychological disorders blur the line. If someone has multiple personality disorder, does the psych ward have different sections for each personality or a ward sectioned off for 'multiply cuiled people'?

On the other hand I can see this as having uses for people with borderline personality disorder.

But it might not work for those with bipolar disorder. Being overly happy or sad…is that an abstraction from reality? If you are more than less happy, do you acquire more positive (or negative) cuils? How does one measure ones level of happiness or sadness?

But who are you to decide if a patient is mental or anyone else for that matter? Ever heard of being sane in insane times.

My ramblings aside, this has great implications to measure sanity but only in the contex of what sanity is at the time.

What if someone who is much closer to reality than us is treated, perhaps those who are crazy are the few enlightened as to the true nature of reality?

we would only drag them further from the truth we all seek simply because we assume we are closer than they are.

One problem would be that of whether or not being relatively non-abstract (concrete, like a Doctor examining a patient) disables one from truly discerning differences between high levels of Cuil. Wouldn't someone with a low level Cuil simply be able to note whether another is at a comporable Cuil level or a much higher one? I do not feel like one could tell the difference between a Cuil 4 and a Cuil 6. It would just be a matter of 'me (a low cuil level)' and 'them (a high Cuil level).' I would need to experience a similar Cuil level to have any acumen on the matter.
